In the last week of January, Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal tied the knot in the presence of their family and very few close friends. The couple married each other in the presence of their loved ones on January 24, 2021, at the Mansion House in Alibaug. While all the preparations were kept a secret, fans were excited to see the childhood sweethearts finally getting hitched. Among the few people invited, filmmaker Kunal Kohli, who also is Varun's cousin, has now opened up about the intimate wedding of the two.

In a chat with Hindustan Times, the filmmaker, who was part of the wedding ceremonies with his family, has shared how the ceremony was. While he did not get into details, Kunal shared that the idea of the wedding was to keep it among very close family and even closer friends. He gave a shoutout to Varun and Natasha's friends in the chat and revealed that at the end of the 3-day long wedding extravaganza, they all ended up coming out being closer. He also lauded Varun and Natasha for choosing their friends well.

Sharing the insight about Varun and Natasha's wedding, Kunal said, "The whole idea was to just keep it to the close family and very, very close friends. There were four-five friends of his, whom everyone knows from school. We were sharing stories. It was very nice, a close-knit environment of friends like family and family-like friends. That was what was wonderful about it." Further, praising Varun and Natasha's friends, he said, "I always say, ‘You can’t choose your family but you can choose your friends,’ and I am glad he has chosen his friends well. Likewise for Natasha. Both of them have a wonderful set of friends. It was just like one big family and we were all happy to be together in the privacy of everything."

Kunal even expressed gratitude to the media for respecting the family's privacy and not interfering with anything. During the wedding ceremony days, Kunal and his daughter were snapped a couple of times at the venue when they headed to the beach. On the day of Varun and Natasha's wedding, the couple tied the knot and came out for a photo op with the paparazzi present at the venue. Varun thanked everyone and even posed with his new bride for a photo with the media. He even arranged food for the paps present outside the venue.

Soon after getting hitched, Varun shared photos of his happily ever after on social media and left everyone stunned. The couple headed back a day after the ceremony with their friends. Since then, Natasha and Varun have been snapped a couple of times in the city separately.

Well, Varun has made one thing clear, Alia was was just a colleague whom he happened to share the screen with a few times, at least according to him. She holds no value in his life, never did.
