Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi film has clocked two years today. The romantic comedy had entertained the audience to the fullest and turned out to be the highest-grossing film. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film deals with live in relationship problems. Though it is legal after the Supreme Court ruling, still in our society, it is not acceptable. A live-in relationship is “marriage without a license” or a choice to understand each other better? The film tries to encapsulate these questions whilst offering a contemporary story.

Luka Chuppi is giving the stigma a comedy touch where Kartik Aaryan is essaying the role of a television reporter and Kriti Sanon is playing the role of an intern reporter. Both while working together, fall in love with each other. But before getting married, they want to live in for some time. But the chaos starts when their families come to know about it. Apart from the lead actors, Pankaj Tripathi's acting was highly appreciated. The film is a satire on society.

However, after the film's release, it got into a debate where its success was only attributed to Kartik and not Kriti. On this, Kriti had said, “It is a common practice in Bollywood where a romantic film is only associated with a male actor and not with the female. But, she also mentioned that things are changing now.”

The actress had further said, “The conversation started after a headline stating ‘Mr. Bachchan’s Badla and Kartik Aaryan’s Luka Chuppi do well at the box office’, surfaced. Taapsee pointed it out and tweeted that female actors have also worked in these films. Though it happens at times, I think most people are scared nowadays about not mentioning the work of female actors; they fear that we might tweet about it. Once the conversation started, Arjun (Kapoor) and I also tweeted because a similar incident happened when they started talking about the clash of Panipat (which features Kriti and Arjun) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Ananya Panday). There are times when actresses are not given as much importance as the actors, even when it comes to mentioning them in the headline. You don’t call a romantic film a girl’s movie. Some people have a tendency to write in detail about the male lead’s performance and just two lines describing the leading lady’s work. That, too, they focus more on how pretty she looked. Now, that’s upsetting.”

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan is currently busy in the shooting of BhBhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film also stars Kiara Advani and Tabu and will be releasing on November 19, 2021. The film is a sequel to Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan starrer that had released back in 2007.  And Kriti Sanon will be next seen in Bachchan Pandey with Akshay Kumar. She has recently completed the shooting of the film and shared the first look.

While making this film, Kartik Aaryan spent a month in his hometown Gwalior. The actor shared many videos and pictures from the set making the journey more memorable. On its second anniversary, let's revisit the making of this comedy film through behind the scenes.
