Bollywood beauty, Madhuri Dixit was last seen in Abhishek Varman's period drama Kalank. The movie performed poorly at the box office and was not received well by the audience. The multi-starrer film also featured Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. The big film was made on a massive budget of Rs 150 crores.

In an interview with Mid-Day, the actress said, "I have been in the industry for more than three decades. Ups and downs are a part and parcel of our work. So, it doesn't bother me much when a film doesn't work." She further added, "No one goes to the sets to do a half-hearted job. But in the end, certain things aren't in our control. We have to move on. The film was received well overseas."

Apart from Karan Johar's production Kalank, Madhuri was also seen in Indra Kumar's Total Dhamaal alongside Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Arshad Warsi earlier this year. Soon, the actress will begin her musical career as she will be launching her English album with six tracks. She will also be judging the show Dance Deewane season 2 beside Tushar Kalia and Shashank Khaitan.

Madhuri is a complete actress as need for indian film, ever produced by INDIAN Film Industry, when she comes on screen than शमां ही बन जाता है, people mesmerised by her presence at screen

Utube has a big uproar about showing the full Tabah Ho Gaye song by Madhuri. They say art should not be suppressed and edited

Actually the dialogue clips after the Kalank songs are more nice.

Dharma did not market Kalank properly, also the time of its release before elections was a miscalculated timing. This film will become a timeless classic with time, the recent clips of Kalank are generating more interest from viewers.

Madhuri Dixit was the original choice for Begum Bahar's role when the movie was titled "Shiddat" but Madhuri had, correctly refused that role. The role then went to Sreedevi, I think in return for her daughter getting Dhadak. Unfortunately she died and Madhuri accepted the role only on Jhanvi Kapoor's insistence I guess. She should have stuck to her earlier decision of not doing Bahar Begum. But I guess Madhuri Dixit is too nice a person not to fall for such things.

Maybe...but Madhuri s choices of movie is always poor it's only her talent which saves her though out her carrier

KJo totally misused Madhuri coz of his blind love for his beti!

Excellent response by Madhuri.I just loved Kalank, it was a beautiful movie with beautiful songs and music. Madhuri and all her co stars acted very well, why the indian audience never liked it, I really cannot understand. I'm from UK, and it was a great Hit here and throughout the world except India. If it was a Hit in all the other parts of world, it cannot be a failure.

Yeah, certain things like your co-stars

she is a lovely dancer but when it comes to acting she is ok and mediocre

What is this ignorant nonsense about her being mediocre? Watch her movies before commenting. She was the only lead actor that fit the world of Kalank anyway - the rest didn't understand what film they were in. Sad and hilarious.

Bollywood need to write more roles for Madhuri

Lol you should act rather than dance.

she is the queen ofBollywood.....acting and dancing...No one can beat Madhuri ....In KALANK, her acting and dancing was phenomenal......

watever! U better take roles that suit your age !

Yes they are! Lose the ego's in the industry first! Look at Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho. Movie where substance was more important than whoever the star in the movie is.

Well said. I’m a big fan of madhuri and I thought she looked amazing in Kalank.
