In what came as a big jolt to the Kapoor family, Rajiv Kapoor breathed his last on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. It was undoubtedly heartbreaking news for the Kapoor family who has been struggling to come in terms with Rishi Kapoor and Ritu Nanda’s demise who passed away last year. Ever since the news of Rajiv’s demise surfaced, several celebs took to their respective social media handles to pay their last respects to Rajiv. Joining them, Mandakini has also mourned the demise of the late actor.

In a social media account, which seems to belong to Mandakini, the actress shared the poster and a still from the movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili wherein she had romanced Rajiv and their chemistry was loved by the audience. In the caption, the veteran actress mentioned that the memories she has with Rajiv will always remain precious to her and that she will cherish them forever. “May his soul rest in peace. I will always remember our beautiful memories together, they will always remain precious to me, I will forever cherish them,” read the caption.

For the uninitiated, Rajiv Kapoor died of a massive cardiac arrest at the age of 58. His last rites were performed in Mumbai. Later the Kapoor family had released a statement confirming that Rajiv’s chautha will not be held due to the pandemic. The statement reads, "Due to the current pandemic circumstance, there will not be a Chautha held for late Mr Rajiv Kapoor for safety reasons. May his soul rest in peace. The entire Raj Kapoor family is a part of your grief too."
