Kangana Ranaut is currently immersed in the shoot of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which will see the actor essaying the role of Rani Laxmibai.
The film is being helmed by Telugu director Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi (Krish) and also stars Ankita Lokhande, Sonu Sood, Atul Kulkarni and Jisshu Sengupta in vital roles.
Initially, the movie was scheduled to release on April 27, 2018, but was later pushed and now speculations are rife of an August release, though no official announcement has been made by the makers yet.
According to a leading daily, Kangana and the team will be wrapping the movie in a few days time.
A source revealed to the daily, "Major portions of the historical are already shot and everyone is happy with the results. It’s been a gruelling shoot for the entire team. Kangana —who plays the protagonist — along with Sonu Sood and Ankita Lokhande will be shooting for a few more days in the coming weeks to wrap the film completely. Only a bit of patchwork will remain after that."
Meanwhile, during an event recently, Kangana spoke in detail about her outfits in the movie. Kangana said, "In one part of Manikarnika when my character is married and is in a happy space, the outfits make me look so beautiful. Every day, when I would dress up and go to the set, I would get so many compliments. But then, the film moves into a war zone and my look is that of a warrior queen."
"There are so many shades to my character in the film," Kangana added.

In old days only way to express their wealth was jewelry and very rare silk. This is a good indication.

Have high hopes for this one, not just for Kangana but for the subject- it MUST be a quality film. We can do it. IF the script is stellar. Script should be top notch

Didn't Jhansi ki Rahi get married when she is was 14-15 as was the norm in those days. So if there is a marriage scene of Kangana's in the movie well it's historically inaccurate!!!

Lots of love and best wishes for the movie..hope it’s as pathbreaking as your thoughts and opinions are!

This is so weird, Kangna looks nice but this is not Zanshi ki rani that we know, I mean if you are trying to show the history, please show some reality, what's with these glamorous dresses, rich saris, Unfortunately Hindi cinema is all about dance and drama, no reality. A very good example is SLB's movies, Bajirao, Padmavati.. If you are making a character base movie, be true to that character.

Exactly I true that. There were no cut ornaments and machine made sarees like how she is wearing. It needs to be really toned down. And they need to dig history on culture, environment, fashion etc etc around this time. This looks so jazzygo and not true. Bajirao was good. I felt even padmavat was heavy
