Nearly three weeks after Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual harassment by an ex-employee of now dissolved Phantom Films, the woman who accused has said that she didn’t want to pursue the case; however, she still stands behind her accusations. Advocate Navroz Seervai who was representing the woman put a statement with the signature of the woman who accused Bahl, confirming that the incident happened more than three years ago. The victim added that she did not believe in going to the police and thus did not want to pursue the case.

In a petition filed by Bahl, he has sought Rs 10 crore in damages from his former partners in Phantom Films, directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, and three media organisations for alleged defamation. Bahl also sought interim relief while restraining them and others, including two media houses for publishing, posting and republishing the allegedly defamatory articles against him.

As per a report by India Today, Kashyap and Motwane’s lawyer said that “Bahl broke down and confirmed the incident, promising to go in for rehabilitation. This man has a drinking problem and he had promised to go to rehab as he cannot control his actions when he is drunk.”

The hearing was adjourned for October 25, after Phantom Films' fourth partner Madhu Mantena's advocate said that Mantena was never present when Bahl had confessed to Anurag Kashyap. According to Kashyap's lawyer, Mantena and Kashyap were both there when Bahl confessed.

The accusations were made against Bahl after the ex-employee said to the Huffington post that Bahl had sexually harassed her three years ago in Goa. She said she had complained to Kashyap and Motwane, but they didn’t do anything at that time.
