As we speak, Tanushree Dutta, the torchbearer of the Me Too movement in India, is in New Jersey, miles away from India but that doesn’t keep her away from continuing the #MeToo dialogue and we say this because according to reports, Former Miss India is bringing Bollywood's sexual harassment stories to the screen with her upcoming short film, Inspiration. That’s right! And Tanushree decided to release the film on International Women’s Day i.e. March 8, 2019, and well, we feel Tanushree chose the perfect day to drop her short film online.

Besides featuring in the short film, Tanushree Dutta has also penned the dialogues of the film and Tanushree is excited for this film as it deals with the issue of showbiz and how young girls are exploited in the industry. Talking about her short film, Tanushree Dutta informed Mid-Day, “It deals with the issue of wilful exploitation of young newcomers in showbiz or any other field where they don't have mentors or guidance.” A few months back, when Tanushree Dutta had come to India for a vacation, little did she know that her vacation is going to turn into a movement of sorts and will pave way for the Me Too movement after she renewed a decade-old sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar that took place on the sets of the 2008-film Horn Ok Please. Soon after, a lot of women came out in the open- naming and shaming their sexual predators. After Nana Patekar, Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl, Rajkumar Hirani, Alok Nath, Subhash Kapoor, Anu Malik and Kailash Kher, among others, were accused of sexual misconduct. Such was the impact of the #MeToo movement that Nana Patekar and Sajid Khan had to step down for Housefull 4.

And for all those who thought that after leaving India, Tanushree Dutta will keep quiet have been proved wrong because her short film titled Inspiration deals with stories of Me Too that plagued India as she says, “It is a new format where reality meets fiction.” While Tanushree had shot for her short film, directed by Atul Bhalla, in Mumbai last year and in the film, Tanushree will play the role of a guardian. “I play a guardian angel who inspires the girls to make the right decision. I wrote the dialogues, inspired by my own insight and understanding on the matter. I was excited to face the camera after nine years because this time, I was not only entertaining but also imparting wisdom to the misled and unfortunate.”

Recently, Tanushree Dutta who invited to a conference at Harvard University as a guest speaker.
