My Name Is Khan turns 11: Karan Johar thanks 'Bhai' Shah Rukh Khan for being film's soul, Kajol for being rock

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer My Name Is Khan has completed 11 years today. On the occasion, Karan Johar cherished the memorable film and penned a note of thanks for the entire team including Shah Rukh and Kajol.

For every filmmaker, his films are special and today, director Karan Johar is celebrating his 2010 release My Name Is Khan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead. Today, the film that stars SRK and Kajol as Rizwan and Mandira completes 11 years and on this occasion, the filmmaker took a trip down memory lane. Not just this, Karan penned an emotional note of thanks for Shah Rukh, Kajol and the entire cast and crew of My Name Is Khan. 

Sharing a video montage from the film, Karan cherished the moments with Shah Rukh and Kajol as Rizwan and Mandira. He penned a note of gratitude for the cast and crew. He wrote, "All we have is our stories and this one will be cherished forever. Thank you bhai for being the soul of this film. Kajol for being an unbreakable rock to Rizwan and us. To Shibani for writing a story that is still relevant in today's world... And to the entire team that embarked on this challenging journey together. I will always be grateful to each and every one of you." Not just the actors, Karan even thanked the writer, Shibani Bathija for penning a story that was relevant even today. 

As soon as Karan shared the post, many fans who loved the film remembered the special moments from it in the comments. A fan wrote, "This is a film that you should be proud of, it gives the best message of humanity." Another fan expressed how much he missed the trio of Karan, SRK and Kajol and urged the filmmaker to make a film with both actors again.

The film managed to leave audiences in awe of the performances by Shah Rukh and Kajol. The moving story of a man who is on a quest to tell the US President that he is Rizwan Khan and is not a terrorist touched the hearts of many. It also won praise from critics back in the day.
