Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy has hit the screens and it has now become a rage. Fans are appreciating the performances by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Gully Boy is a shout out to street rappers like Divine and Naezy. If you have seen the film, you would see it’s not a cakewalk for street rappers. Naezy became quite popular with his On Air With AIB song named Tragedy Mein Comedy Hai. His first project named Aafat happened to be a DIY video where he talked about during the '70s.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Naezy said that Divine and he have been with Zoya Akhtar in the initial days. He told that they have been sitting and jamming. He said that they have built a relationship with Zoya over time. He said they were also around when the dialogues were being written and also during promotions. According to Naezy, the movie will help get rapping more prominence in the country as big names like Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are associated with it.

“It is going to help us a lot because people haven't known about us for a long time. Four to five years ago, we were working so hard underground, and now Bollywood has woken up to the Indie scene. So I think 'The Gully Rap', 'The Bombay Hip Hop', all of this is going to come into focus and become a cult now. The masses will accept it because it's getting validated by Zoya Akhtar and big names like Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. People have started thinking that the underground rap scene has value,” said Naezy. Meanwhile, watch one of the songs from the film here:
