Naseeruddin Shah recently found himself in hot waters after his comment in the light of mob violence in India stirred a nationwide controversy. Reacting to the recent killing of a policeman in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, Shah said that the death of a cow has been given more importance over the killing of a policeman in the country. Post this, many started targeting Shah calling him a "traitor." Not someone to bog down, Shah has been taking all the comments in his stride because this isn't the first time that an opinion has caused such a huge stir in the country.

Taking advantage of the situation, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he will show the Narendra Modi led Government in India how to treat minorities. However, Shah reacted sharply to this and in a statement to Indian Express said that Mr Khan should take of his own country as we in India know how to take care of ourselves. He said, "I think Mr Khan should be walking the talk in his own country instead of commenting on issues that don’t concern him. We have been a democracy for 70 years and we know how to look after ourselves.”

For those uninitiated, Shah had in the "controversial" video interview said, "It will be very difficult to capture this djinn back into the bottle again. There is complete impunity for those who take law into their own hands...I feel anxious for my children because tomorrow if a mob surrounds them and asks, 'Are you a Hindu or a Muslim?' they will have no answer. It worries me that I don't see the situation improving anytime soon."

Stop deflecting mr shaw, pm IK gave a historical reference, it is not even a big news in pak, you said you are afraid of mob violence, there are many cases, that are high lighted! They are aganist Muslims! So, speak , ,and work with Hindus and Christians to find a solution! Own your statement, kindly leave Pakistani PM out of it!

Pakistanis kill Shia Muslim, Ahmadia Muslim, Christian , they turned to Saudi form of wahabi muslims, a very dangerous non tolerant form of Islam. In India, at least there is a dialogue. In Pakistan if one of the minorities speak out, there will be a fatwa against them.

I can see where Nasseuridan Shah is coming from.

Ab Naseer Saab, aap bol sakte jo chaaho toh Imran Khan bhi bol sakte hai. Freedom of speech is a two way street. Unko bhi express karne deejiye apne valued opinions.
