Last year, the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Badhaai Ho did wonders on the box office as well as on the hearts of the audience. Produced by Junglee pictures and directed by Amit Sharma, the film also featured Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta,  Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri. The social comedy was an amazing film and all the actors gave their best performance in the film. Now, it's a piece of good news for all the fans.
We got the information that Badhaai Ho will have a sequel, which will go on floors really soon. "The script has been locked, and the makers are close to locking the cast" as we found out from a source close to the development. "The second instalment, set to take off early next year, will revolve around the shenanigans of a joint family and not one, but two young couples, according to the source.” The much loved film is being remade in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
A few days ago, the 66th National Film Awards were announced and Badhaai Ho was honoured with the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award. In fact, Ayushmann was awarded as best actor for both Badhai Ho and Andhadhun. Talking about his victory, the actor had said, “It’s truly humbling and hugely gratifying to win the coveted National Awards. As an artist, I have always tried to back disruptive content that stands out for its quality content. Today’s honour is a validation of my hard work, my belief system, my journey in movies and my reason to be an actor in the first place.”
