National Film Awards 2019: Vicky Kaushal ecstatic on win; says happy to be sharing it with Ayushmann Khurrana

At the 66th National Film Awards, Vicky Kaushal won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike and also shared it with Ayushmann Khurrana for AndhaDhun. Vicky was ecstatic to win the award and here’s what he said.

Today, the 66th National Film Awards 2019 were announced after a delay of 2-3 months due to the general election in the country. While many films won in various categories, it was a big day for Uri: The Surgical Strike star Vicky Kaushal as his film won him the Best Actor Award. The Uri star won the award for the Best Actor and it was also announced that he will be sharing with Ayushmann Khurrana who won for AndhaDhun. Vicky was thrilled to hear the news about the win.

In a statement, Vicky thanked everyone associated with Uri and also mentioned that it was a huge moment for him. “For my work to be recognised by the National Film Awards jury, is a huge moment for me and my family,” Vicky said in his statement. The actor also was thrilled to be sharing the award with Ayushmann and also congratulated the AndhaDhun actor. Vicky dedicated the award to his parents, Uri team members and to the nation along with the armed forces.

Vicky said, “Words might fall short to describe what I am feeling right now. I wish to thank each and every member of the jury committee for finding me worthy of the prestigious Best Actor Award for my work in Uri- The Surgical Strike. I am also very happy to be sharing this award with someone whom I admire, both as a person and as an actor. Congratulations brother. “

Meanwhile, Best Director Award went to Aditya Dhar for Uri-The Surgical Strike and he thanked each and everyone associated with the film. Uri-The Surgical Strike broke box office records and is one of the most successful films of this year. On the Kargil Vijay Diwas this year in July, Uri: The Surgical Strike was re-released in theatres of Maharashtra as well. Vicky Kaushal’s role of Major Vihaan Shergill won many praises from fans and critics as well.
