The 91st Academy Awards, the biggest night in Hollywood, will not have an official host this year and this is happening after 30 years, for the Academy Awards were conducted without a host in 1989. That’s right! The President of ABC Entertainment, which broadcasts the ceremony, confirmed the same. While Oscars 2019 will telecast on February 24, 2019, ABC's Karey Burke told reporters that “The Feb 24 ceremony would highlight the celebrities who present the awards and that there were also plans for ‘a pretty exciting opening’ to the telecast.”

Owing to the homophobic tweets that surfaced online back in December, comedian Kevin Hart stepped down from hosting the Oscar ceremony. According to reports, “The telecast has gone without an emcee only once, 30 years ago. That ceremony kicked off with an 11-minute musical number featuring a duet between Rob Lowe and an actress playing Snow White.” According to reports, while the organizers were looking to find a replacement for a host for 2019, but finally, settled for a ceremony with no emcee. For all those who don’t know, while the previous two Oscars were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, 2005 and 2016 Oscar ceremonies were emceed by comedian Chris Rock, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres hosted in 2007 and 2014.

Recently, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' official Twitter handle revealed the star-studded nominees class photo and nearly all the nominees of this year had gathered for a celebratory luncheon. “Meet the 91st #Oscars #OscarsLunch,” the Academy captioned the tweet. The Oscars will take place in Los Angeles on February 24, 2019, and the Academy President John Bailey had said, “The Oscars is the most-watched live entertainment event of the year. The show connects us with the power and history of the movies as it reconnects home audiences with their favorite films and stars.”
