Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh is continuing to grow at the box office even in its third week. Padmaavat, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, released on January 25, 2018 and has received a mixed response.
According to a trade site, the movie had a very strong hold on its third Monday as it saw a drop of only 10% to collect around Rs 3-3.25 crore nett range.
According to the trade site, the film has now crossed 245 crore nett and should hit Rs 30 crore nett for the second week with the partial holidays over the next few days.
According to production numbers, the movie crossed Rs 250 crore on February 11 itself.
Meanwhile, speaking about the movie, Bhansali said, "The fate of Padmaavat was never in our hands, or in the hands of those who wanted to stop it. I have just one question for those who don’t like my film, many of them without seeing it: Who decides what the audience should see and like?"
He further added, “My work, my cinema is the only impetus. I have to wake up every morning with hope in my heart. The past year has been traumatic for me. I am yet to process all the levels of attack I went through. I only want to feel thankful that our film has been seen by the public and liked… except by those who invariably think my cinema is about excesses. To them I can only say sorry, I will try harder next time to please you.”
On the other hand, Deepika added, "To be really honest, I think there hasn't been any time to celebrate the success because there is so much happening right now. Of course, it is the time for celebration."
