Padmaavat, Raazi, Tiger Zinda Hai among others to be screened at IFFI Goa 2018 as part of Indian Panorama

26 Feature films and 21 Non-Feature films have been chosen for the screening at the IFFI 2018. The 2018 edition of the International Film Festival of India will be held from the 20th of November till the 28th in Goa.

The International Film Festival of India 2018 (IFFI) is all set to kick start in Goa from November 20. The 49th edition will see the screening of around 190 feature films from different regions in India and abroad. 26 feature films have been selected for the Indian Panorama Section by the jury headed by Filmmaker Rahul Rawail. The list includes around six Malayalam, five Bengali and Hindi, four Tamil, two Marathi and one each from Telegu, Ladakhi, Tulu and Jasari languages films.

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ starring  Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Raazi’ have been chosen as ‘mainstream films’ by an internal committee of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF). Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu’s ‘October’ will be screened in the feature film category at the prestigious film festival.

The titles for the non-feature film segment were chosen by a separate seven-member jury headed by film director Vinod Ganatra. Marathi film Kharvas, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale was selected by the jury as the opening non-feature film of Indian Panorama 2018.

IFFI is one of the most significant festivals of Asia which was started in the year 1952. This festival provides a common platform for the cinemas of the world to contribute to not only understanding but also promoting friendship and cooperations among the people of the world. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Directorate of Film Festivals and the Government of Goa conducts this festival jointly.
