Panipat Trailer Out: Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon bring out the essence of Marathas; Sanjay Dutt looks fierce

The makers of Panipat unveil its trailer today and we see the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial giving us a tour of the 18th century narrating the gory details of the Third Battle Of Panipat fought between the Marathas and the Afghan army led by Ahmad Shah Abdali.

Ashutosh Gowariker's upcoming historical period drama titled Panipat has been the talk of the town ever since the film was announced. The story takes us back to the dreadful year 1761 when Indian history saw a gory clash between the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali for the land of Panipat. The ghastly encounter between the two forces is referred to as the Third Battle of Panipat in the epics. The film recreates the dire story of the battle cinematically through the lens of director, Ashutosh Gowariker and boasts of a strong ensemble starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon get into the skin of their characters, promising a tour of the 18th century.

A while ago, the makers of the Panipat unveiled its trailer and Ashutosh Gowariker's historical drama gives us a glimpse of the ancient era. The first half of the trailer shows Arjun Kapoor shine as Sadashiv Rao Bhau as he exhibits his war tactics being the Sardar Senapati of the Maratha army. We find Padmini Kolhapure and Mohnish Bahl making a strong supporting cast, while Kriti Sanon wins hearts as Parvati Bai. The trailer advances to unveil Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali, the fierce King of Afghanistan giving us chills as we see him amidst the gory details of the battle. We see Kriti Sanon transform into a brave warrior towards the end. Catch the trailer:

The film marks the comeback of the veteran actress Zeenat Aman and Padmini Kolhapure on the silver screen after decades. The film also stars television sensation Mohnish Bahl, Milind Gunaji, Nawab Shah, Kunal Kapoor and Mir Sarwar in pivotal roles. The trailer of Panipat seems promising and impressive and the film is slated to hit the cinema halls on December 6, 2019, clashing with Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh.
