Film-maker Rajkumar Hirani was allegedly accused of sexual assault by one of his female crew members and since the news broke out a few days ago, personalities from the film industry have largely been silent on the issue. 'Fukrey' actress Richa Chadha believes that it is largely because they are not aware of the facts of the case. In a HuffPost India story, Rajkumar Hirani was called out for sexually abusing a female assistant more than once between March and September 2018 while working on Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju.

Speaking about the industry's hush hush behaviour because Hirani is one of the top directors in the country, Richa Chadha said, "It isn't power structure. I think everyone is tentative because they don't know the facts of the case. But it's an anonymous allegation. I'm not defending him or the girl either. I've learnt it the hard way. A friend of mine was falsely accused. This is the only reason why I feel people are tentative." reported PTI.

"He (Hirani) is one of the directors with the cleanest image, you must not forget that. There have been others who were accused but nobody said anything," said Richa. She also added that a bad date, a relationship gone sour or vendetta is not #MeToo. "We are talking about 2019, if exploitation has happened, you should definitely go to the police and take legal route. A lot of people suffer in trial by media."

The victim who has complained against Rajkumar Hirani has found support in Vidhu Vinod Chopra and his wife Anupama Chopra. While actor Arshad Warsi had said, "It’s a shocker as it is for everybody else who has heard this news."

"She also added that a bad date, a relationship gone sour or vendetta is not #MeToo." I hope Richa wasn't misquoted but this makes it seems that she's undermining the accusation.

au contraire...most predators have an established patten of prior behaviour....just saying. so without full facts, it's difficult to predict

Most Predators come across as clean image people thats how they trap them.. just saying..
