Rajkummar Rao, who has been roped in for the remake of Dharmendra starrer Chupke Chupke, is excited to be a part of the project. He also stated that it is a big responsibility to step into the veteran actor’s shoes.

Rajkummar Rao, who was last seen in Judgementall Hai Kya opposite Kangana Ranaut early this year, has some big projects lined up in his kitty. The actor is currently gearing up for his another release of 2019 Made In China which is set to hit the screens on Diwali this year. Besides, he will also be seen in Hansal Mehta’s Turram Khan and Hardik Mehta’s RoohiAfza with Janhvi Kapoor. Amidst these, the Stree actor has also been roped in for another big project recently and he can’t stop gushing about it.

We are talking about the remake of 1975 release cult classic Chupke Chupke that featured Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan, Om Prakash in key roles. It has been reported that Rajkummar will be stepping into Dharmendra’s role for the remake. While the fans are excited to watch him play the popular role of Professor Parimal Tripathi from the original movie, the Bareilly Ki Barfi actor said that working on the remake is a huge responsibility, especially when it comes to stepping into the shoes of Dharmendra. However, Rajkummar is confident about working hard for the movie and assured to put his best foot forward for Chupke Chupke remake.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the actor was quoted saying, “It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, director) standard, but we will try and put our best foot forward.”

As of now, the makers are yet to decide on the remaining cast of the remake. Meanwhile, there were reports that Rajkummar was also been approached for Karan Johar’s much talked about Dostana 2. However, he had turned down the offer citing date issues.
