Rani Mukerji gets a special gift from art director of Mardaani 2 after the wrap up of the schedule

Rani Mukerji has been busy shooting for the sequel of Mardaani. Post the wrap up of the long shooting schedule in Rajasthan, Rani got a special gift from the film’s art director. Take a look.

When a film crew works closely with the lead actor of the film, they tend to form a strong bond which continues even after the film is over. Speaking of this, Rani Mukerji has been extremely busy shooting for her film, Mardaani 2 in Rajasthan from the past month with the crew. When the shooting schedule was coming to an end, the art director of the film, Babu Saini decided to gift Rani a special painting. Rani and Babu have worked together in the past on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and share a good bond. 

When the last day of the shooting schedule came, the art director gave Rani a special painting made by him. Babu is also a renowned painter in Jaipur and he decided to appreciate the actor and her work via a painting. In the painting, we get to see Rani as the badass cop who is out to fight the bad guys just the way Rani’s character in Mardaani. The special gesture was to honour the hard work done by the actor over the years and in the upcoming film.

A close source informed, “When Saini presented her this portrait, Rani was very touched. He actually painted her in her Mardaani 2 look, a film that she is very proud of. She was overwhelmed and informed him that she will put this up in her house. It also shows the kind of affection and appreciation and respect that technicians and crew members have for Rani as a person and her body of work.” The Mardaani 2 actress was happy and overcome with emotion when she saw the painting and intends to add it to her personal collection.

Meanwhile, Mardaani 2’s major chunk of the shoot is complete and the final schedule will be shot in Mumbai at Yash Raj Studios. Rani will once again deliver the power-packed performance as Shivani Shivaji Roy, Superintendent of Police. In the earlier film, Rani busted a child trafficking racket, but in this film, she deals with a new enemy. Helmed by a debutante director, Gopi Puthran, Mardaani 2 is slated to release by the end of the year.
