If there is one film that opened the doors of a completely new genre of music to India, then one name comes to mind and it is Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer, Gully Boy. Gully Boy was the story of Murad who grew up in the slums of Dharavi and had the dream of becoming a rapper. How he overcame his obstacles to reach the zenith of success was the story of the film. Ranveer Singh in the role of Murad left everyone surprised and Alia Bhatt as Safeena managed to leave a lasting impression on audiences.

Everyone wanted to see more of Murad and Safeena and hence, wanted a sequel to Gully Boy. In a recent interview, director Zoya Akhtar confirmed the same and mentioned that the film’s second part is being scripted. Zoya mentioned that Gully Boy tackled a completely unique genre of music and has many stories to tell. Hence, the writer, Reema Kagti and she were planning a sequel to the film.

Zoya said, “My co-writer Reema Kagti and I do feel there’s so much more to be said on the entire hip-hop culture in our country. And another film exploring the theme is being scripted and planned.”

Well, now that surely is big news for all the fans of the film. Gully Boy also introduced a newcomer, Siddhant Chaturvedi, as MC Sher in the film. Siddhant’s character also received appreciation from the audiences. One of the most successful films of this year, Gully Boy’s songs like Mere Gully Mein, Apna Time Ayega, Doori, Azaadi, were a major highlight of the film and are still trending on the charts. Gully Boy also premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Ranveer, MC Sher and Moeen all the way again

I've seen 21 year olds who look like 41 year olds, they look so awful. Ranveer will do fine. And hardly anyone likes sequels where the main character is replaced by a new face.

We waaant safeeennnnaaa!!!!
Alia you are the besttt!!!!!

Um, Ranveer looks too old to be playing a 21 year old.
