Salman Khan is no stranger to controversies. After being stuck in a legal battle in various cases for years, the actor's commercial property in Mumbai's Khar area has now come under scanner. Environmental activists have raised concerns regarding the chopping of a tree which the property's current owners wish to undertake. According to a report in Times Now, the said property has been rented by a food company. The people running the food company wish to chop down a tree as they feel that it is as a hindrance and can become a problem during emergencies.

It is likely that the tree may pose as an obstacle for the easy passage of emergency vehicles like fire engines and more. However, environmental activists cite there are other reasons and have requested the civic body, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), to strike down the request.

The BMC reportedly will announce its decision in a week's time. According to a report in Free Press Journal, when the property was being constructed, BMC had given a green signal to go ahead with the construction with no mention of asking the tree to be chopped down. Also, the owners have asserted that once the tree has been chopped down, they have promised to transplant it elsewhere. So far, Salman Khan has not responded to these complaints.
