Uri: The Surgical Strike released on January 11, 2019, and continues to stay strong at the box office even on its sixth Monday. Uri: The Surgical Strike stars Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam in lead roles and is in fact Vicky’s first 200 crore film. Director Aditya Dhar too, has made it big with his directorial debut itself. And now, the film has achieved another feat, as the film has managed to surpass Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express.

In its sixth week at the box-office, the war film has added Rs 1.32 crore and the total collection at the box office post its 39 day run is now Rs. 227.37 crore. With its sixth Monday at the box office, the film has managed to beat Chennai Express’ lifetime collection (Rs. 277.13 crore). Chennai Express is considered to be SRK’s highest grosser till date. And something that has come to everyone’s notice is how it has managed to do so despite the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy running at the box office.

Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strike conducted by the Indian army against Pakistan back in September 2016. The strikes were conducted as a retaliation to the attack on a camp in Uri during that month. Apart from Yami and Vicky, the film also had Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal, and Kirti Kulhari in pivotal roles.

That is quite a feat after all, isn’t it? Have you seen the film yet, drop in your comments below.
