August 5, 2019, will forever be remembered as a historic day in the time to come as the Indian government revoked Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Now that the Article has been held defunct, it will be treated like any other State of the country, and will now allow people from across the country to buy property and/or start a business there. And with that becoming the talk of the nation, Shahid Kapoor's film, Haider, has drawn a lot of attention over a monologue from the film.

Haider is based on Shakespeare's Hamlet and is set in the backdrop of the militancy-ridden Kashmir. The monologue shows Shahid's character acting up over the situation of the people living in Kashmir and also, highlights Article 2 of Geneva Convention as well as Article 370 (now revoked). Apart from that, the monologue also sees Haider point out how both Pakistan and India are trying to talk Kashmiris into the freedom of the nation on grounds of their territorial borders, not asking the people what do they want themselves. The monologue is nothing but relatable to many given the current scenario! Check it out:

Meanwhile, the revocation of Article 370 has received a mixed reaction from people across the nation, and while some have hailed this decision of the government, some think it is highly unethical to do so, given the fact that the leaders were put on house arrest, and how any communication was cut beforehand.
