Bollywood’s latest success formula is making biopics on prolific and inspiring personalities who the world needs to know. Speaking of this, after a long wait, Vidya Balan took to social media to share the first look poster and teaser of the biopic based on the life of the most brilliant mathematician of India, Shakuntala Devi-Human Computer. Among the most prolific and renowned mathematicians in the country, Shakuntala Devi was often called the Human Computer as she used to solve math problems without any tools. 

Taking to social media, Vidya shared the first look teaser and poster of ‘Shakuntala Devi- Human Computer.’ Clad in a pink saree with a bob hairdo and a smile on her face, Vidya as Shakuntala Devi was ready to take on the world by solving one math problem at a time. Shakuntala Devi is known for solving complex math issues in a jiffy at the age of 5 without using a computer or calculator. She wrote many books including, Figuring: The Joy of Numbers, Perfect Murder, Mathability: Awaken the Math Genius in Your Child The World of Homosexuals.

Vidya shared the teaser and wrote, “Excitement is multiplying each day! Time to dig into the 'root' of the mathematical genius, #ShakuntalaDevi. #FilmingBegins @sonypicsprodns @abundantiaent @directormenon @ivikramix @sneharajani_.” In a conversation with PTI, Vidya mentioned that she was extremely elated to take on the role of Shakuntala Devi. She said, “She was truly someone who embraced her individuality, had a strong feminist voice and braved many a naysayer to reach the pinnacle of success.”

The film is helmed by Anu Menon and is being produced by Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment. It is slated to release in 2020. Apart from this, Vidya was recently seen in Mission Mangal that managed to reach a milestone of Rs 200 Crore and was the story of the women scientists behind the Mangalyaan. Vidya played a scientist and was loved in her part. Now, fans can’t wait to see her as the 'Human Computer' in Shakuntala Devi biopic.
