Shilpa Shetty is one of the most popular Bollywood actresses. She made her debut in 1993 with the film Darr which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. During the 90s, she was one of the top actresses; however, Shilpa revealed that she had to face a lot of rejections in her career. The actress recently completed 25 years in Bollywoood and talked about her career and films in an interview with Indian Express.

The Phir Milenge actress said that even after the success of Baazigar, she never got meaty roles. "I didn’t feel like they accepted me as an actor. Maybe I wasn’t good enough but I was dejected that I didn’t get good roles. Even after I did women-oriented films like Dhadkan it didn’t help. I started at the age of 17 and if it wasn’t for the rejections, I don’t think I would have lasted."

Shilpa revealed that even after the success of Apne and Life in a Metro, she felt that something was missing, and hence, she decided to participate in the reality show Big Brother.

"I had a sense of rejection and that’s when I was offered Big Brother. At that time, I wanted to get away from the country and do something else, cut away from the industry. Also, they were paying me well so I took it up. I thought I would be there for three weeks and get three crore for that. I was prepared every day to be out. But I just turned stronger and finally won the show."

The actress revealed that Big Brother was the first big win in her life. She was very shocked when she learnt that she had won the show and felt that it was poetic justice for her.

Meanwhile, on the work front currently, Shilpa Shetty is judging the dance reality show called Super Dancer on Sony TV.
