A few days back, reports started making the rounds that Shraddha Kapoor starrer Saina Nehwal biopic might be shelved. The film was set to go on floors in October and Shraddha was prepping for it extensively.
When a leading tabloid asked the director Amole Gupte about the status of the film, he stated, "I have no idea why it is being deduced that the film has been shelved." He further spoke about the rolling of the film saying, "We will start shooting this September. It’s the kind of film that requires brewing period."
Amole added, "I have lived this film for two years. I have been making constant trips to Hyderabad, meeting Saina and taking notes. It was a mammoth task to make her journey into a script."
Earlier, a trade source told a leading daily about the movie being pushed, "Shraddha and Saina had met on a few occasions. Preparations were on in full swing. However, the movie may not happen because of some other glitches."
Another source added, "The project has been pushed. One doesn’t know if it is indefinitely postponed or whether it has been deferred for a bit." Earlier there were reports that the actor is finding it tough to pick the badminton game.
When director Amole Gupte was earlier asked about the delay in the shooting, he said that he is unwell for the past one week. A production insider told the publication, "There is no official deadline on the film. Amole wants to make a good movie and that's our priority. Even if there's a slight delay, we have their back."
