Zoya Akhtar's directorial Gully Boy became one of the most successful films of 2019. Written by Zoya and Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya and Farhan Akhtar, the film became the 3rd highest grossing Bollywood movie this year. Gully Boy revolves around Murad, a college student living in slums, who develops a passion for rapping. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt who were praised for their performances, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, who proved he is a rising star.

Siddhant made his debut in Bollywood with the character of MC Sher, a local rapper, and became an overnight sensation along with a heartthrob. In a recent interview, the actor talked about the sequel of Gully Boy and his future plans. When asked about the rumours regarding a prequel to Gully Boy focusing on his character, he denied them and said, “I would rather not touch it as it is too scary. I don't want to cash in on that character, I want to move on. If I had to repeat myself I would have done 9 am to 5pm job.”

He continued to add, “Zoya (Akhtar) is interested in making Gully Boy sequel, maybe something on the Delhi chapter. There is a huge pop scene in Delhi as well so she may do a part two.”

Opening up about his future projects, Siddhant said, “I have two films in my hand. One is an action film, where I will be trained in Taekwondo. Another one is a proper comedy film.”
