After leaving the audiences stunned with his film Udta Punjab (2016) starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh, director Abhishek Chaubey is back with another interesting film. Titled Sonchiriya, the film stars Manoj Bajpayee, Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in the lead roles. In his next, Abhishek tells us the story of dacoits with much-needed action, drama and thrill.

Last month, the makers shared the first trailer of Sonchiriya. The trailer made the audiences curious to know what exactly the film is about. To add more to their eagerness, a second trailer of Sonchiriya was dropped today. The second trailer is called the The Rebels of Sonchiriya and we get to see great action, dark humour and how rifle plays a crucial part in each of the character's life in the film.

Sushant, Manoj, Bhumi, Ranvir and Ashutosh look promising as Baaghis in the trailer. They very well managed to deliver dialogues in the Bundelkhandi dialect. At the trailer launch today, both Sushant and Bhumi said that working with Abhishek Chaubey had always been on their bucket list.

While there have been many films on dacoits earlier, and the topic has been untouched for a long time now, Abhishek was asked what is different about his film.

The director said, "It’s an entertaining film. In earlier films, yes there were horses and one Mehbooba, that’s not there. We are entertaining with the story now."

About the title of the film, Chaubey said, "Sonchiriya is a common name in the region where we shot. If you break the word, it’s Golden Bird and India was called Golden Bird. In the film, what all dacoits and policemen are looking for is what Sonchiriya."

Sochiriya will hit the screens on March 1, 2019.
