In March, the makers of The Zoya Factor starring Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman had announced that the film will hit the screens on June 14. As the film is based on cricket, the team decided to release it between the World Cup earlier. However, thinking about the box-office business, The Zoya Factor has now been pushed to an early September release. The film is helmed by Abhishek Sharma. The actor had also shared the first look of the film featuring the two of them few months ago.

A source said, "One of the reasons the film is being postponed is because there is post-production work left. But the driving factor here is the timing. While the makers earlier thought it would be wise to release the film amidst the World Cup fever, they now feel that it may not be the most lucrative period in terms of box-office business. So, they are eyeing an early September release. The final date is yet to be zeroed in. The trailer will be launched by July-end."

The movie is based on Anuja Chauhan's best-selling novel of the same name. According to reports, the film is about a Rajput girl named Zoya Singh Solanki who meets the Indian Cricket Team through her job as an executive in an advertising agency and becomes a lucky charm for the team at the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Post which, Zoya starts liking the skipper Nikhil Khoda who doesn't believe in luck and superstitions.
