When Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar shared their first looks from Abhishek Chaubey's Sonchiriya, we were left wondering what the story will be about. While we had an idea that the film is based on the dacoits in the Chambal region, the curiosity to know more was always there. Sonchiriya also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.

Today, the makers dropped the first trailer of Sonchiriya and it looks intriguing. The story is set in the Chambal region during the 1975 emergency period of India. Actors Sushant, Ranvir and Manoj play dacoits in the films who try to save their lives from the police and authorities trying to catch hold of them. Bhumi Pednekar plays a woman whose struggle is similar to those of the three men and many like them.

The trailer is breathtaking and will leave you with many questions. While it is a fictional film, the base of the story is real as there are bandits who do have these fights with the policemen in many regions of the country.

Sonchiriya is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and the music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics are penned by Varun Grover. The film will hit the screens on February 8, 2019.

For the film, Sushant, Bhumi, Manoj, Ranvir and Ashutosh underwent severe physical training, and their hard work can be seen in the trailer through their performances.
