Akshay Kumar stirred up a storm at the Box Office with his multistarrer film Mission Mangal released in August. After celebrating the success of the film, the Khiladi is charged up for his next action drama Sooryavanshi. The film is being directed by Rohit Shetty and jointly produced by Rohit and Karan Johar. It stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead with multiple antagonists including Gulshan Grover.

Sooryavanshi is the fourth installment of Shetty's Police Universe which features Akshay as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, which was announced towards the end of Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba, serving as the character introduction of Sooryavanshi. Recently, Ajay Devgn aka Bajirao Singham and Ranveer Singh aka Inspector Simmba flew to Hyderabad to shoot the climax scene of the film along with Akshay Kumar and today, Katrina Kaif has shared a picture of the police badge which has Veer Sooryavasnhi's name engraved on it. The actor is said to be playing the chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad and the film is believed to be the costliest cop film ever made in the history of Indian cinema. It is scheduled to release theatrically on March 27, 2020.
