Taapsee Pannu teams up with Scam 1992 breakout actor Pratik Gandhi for Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?

Taapsee Pannu, who is currently prepping up for her forthcoming film Shabaash Mithu, has recently teamed up with Scam 1992 breakout actor Pratik Gandhi for a new film. The title of the film is Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? and it will be released under Siddharth Roy Kapur’s production. The investigative comedy will be directed by Arshad Syed, who has previously written Adaalat, Student of the Year 2 (2019) and Breathe: Into the Shadows (2020). This upcoming film will be Arshad’s directorial debut. 

The film set in central India will see Taapsee Pannu playing the role of a gutsy cop while Pratik will be essaying the role of a chauvinistic brat. Their personalities will clash when they are going to take an unlikely journey together in the film. Now, in a recent interview with the Mid-Day, Taapsee, who is happy that the Roy Kapur Films’ venture gave her an opportunity to bring another strong-headed woman to life, has said that she loved the strong and thoroughly entertaining character that Arshad had written for her. “It is exciting to partner with a producer as prolific as Sid, as well as Pratik, whose performance in Scam 1992 left a lasting impression on me,” the Pink actress added.

Pratik, who has grabbed eyeballs after his brilliant performance in Scam 1992 breakout has said that he was looking to dive into something totally different after Scam 1992 and his role in the upcoming film has ticked all the boxes.

On the other producer Siddharth Roy Kapoor said that when Arshad narrated his charming screenplay to them, they instantly knew that they had to produce the film. “We are excited to work with Taapsee, who brings so much energy to the screen, and Pratik, who blew us away with his performance in Scam 1992,” he added. 

Meanwhile, director Arshad Syed is currently zeroing in on the rest of the cast. The project might go on floors by the year-end.
