Taapsee Pannu, who was last seen in Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal, has some big projects in her kitty as of now. The actress is currently gearing up for the release of Saand Ki Aankh with Bhumi Pednekar. Besides, Taapsee was also working on Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad. To note, Thappad marked Taapsee’s second collaboration with Anubhav after their critically acclaimed 2018 release Mulk. And while the diva has been excited to team up with the director, Taapsee recently got emotional as she wrapped the shooting of Thappad.

Anubhav, who has been working on the movie for over a year now, announced the wrap on micro-blogging site Twitter. His tweet was followed by a special message from actress Dia Mirza expressing her gratitude towards Anubhav for making a film like Thappad. She also shared a picture featuring some members of the cast of this women-oriented family drama. In the caption, Dia also mentioned how the movie will have a large impact on everyone.

“ कुछ कहानियाँ हम सब से बड़ी होतीं हैं! इस #Thappad की गूँज दूर तक जाएगी। some more incredible women who are a part of this amazing film are not a part of this picture. Thank you @anubhavsinha for telling this story and bringing us all together,” Dia wrote.

Soon, Taapsee retweeted Dia’s post with yet another overwhelming message and wrote, “Some films will always have a piece of you left in them, forever.”

To note, Thappad is said to revolve around the issue of gender equality in our society. Apart from Dia and Taapsee, the movie will also star Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Tanvi Azmi and Ram Kapoor in key roles. Thappad, which happens to be Anubhav’s 11th project, has been shot in the locales of Delhi and Lucknow. The movie is scheduled to release on Women’s Day in March next year.
