Tanushree Dutta, who ignited the #MeToo debate last year in India, took a bold step as she came out in open about being sexually harassed by veteran actor Nana Patekar on the sets of the film Horn OK Pleassss in 2008. The actress reported the incidence after ten long years giving a kick-start to the #MeToo movement in India. The movement first began in Hollywood and slowly it spread in India with various names being exposed in Bollywood after Tanushree stood up for herself.

The actress has been one of the biggest supporters of the movement and once again, she has voiced her opinion on the issue as Aamir Khan has announced his decision of collaborating with #MeToo accused filmmaker Subhash Kapoor in Mogul. The actor had initially walked out of the film, however, recently the Thugs Of Hindostan actor opted to return to the project and justified his decision stating that he had been spending sleepless nights living with the burden of causing the director to lose his right to work and earn a livelihood.

Tanushree Dutta, who is credited to spark the #MeToo movement in Bollywood raised an objection on Aamir Khan's statement and called it a well-crafted excuse saying that the movement has perhaps been receiving a lot of compassion from people, however, there seems to be no empathy shown for the alleged victims. Calling it a tricky situation to be in, Tanushree denounced Aamir's decision and said that the actor is supporting the wrong cause.

Tanushree raised the question of how well-named people in Bollywood don't go sleepless when an alleged victim faces harassment or abuse and is unable to resume work out of humiliation and trauma. The actress propelled thinking over the livelihood of those women who have had to let go of their promising and flourishing careers due to harassment at the workplace.
