Tanushree Dutta celebrated her 35th birthday on March 19, 2019, and we are sure that this birthday was extra special for this Former Miss India for having paved way for the Me Too movement in India. It all started a few months back in September 2018 when Tanushree Dutta had come to India for a vacation and little did she know that this vacation was going to be etched in the history of India because it was then that Dutta renewed a decade old sexual harassment case again Nana Patekar that took place on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss.

Post Tanushree dutta, a lot of women came out in the open- naming and shaming their sexual predators. From Sajid Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Anu Malik, Kailash Kher, Subhash Kapoor to Subhash Ghai and Alok Nath, a lot of famous personalities had come under the scanner for their sexual misconduct. After Tanushree Dutta’s Me Too story, Nana Patekar had to step down from the film Housefull 4. Thereafter, Tanushree left for the USA and there were reports that she is making a short film on Me Too; however, she cleared the air as she said in an interview to Hindustan Times that the short film is not based on #MeToo.

Earlier, there were reports that Tanushree Dutta is making a short film titled as Inspiration and she will also feature in the short film, and while reports stated that the short stories are based on the sexual harassment stories based in the Hindi film industry, Tanushree cleared the air as she said that the short film is not based on Me Too stories in the Hindi film industry. “The reports are untrue. The short film has nothing to do with #MeToo or any real life stories. It is also not written by me. It is inspirational and motivational content where I have spoken from my own insight and journey into Bollywood to help newcomers navigate the tricky waters and avoid exploitation,” informed Dutta.

Furthermore, Tanushree says that the film marks her entry into the inspirational genre. “This year I want to utilise all that I have learnt, the insights that I have gained and share a message of hope, redemption and restoration to the world and help guide lost souls,” she added. Recently, Tanushree Dutta was invited to a conference at the Harvard University as a guest speaker.
