Me Too Movement raised a very important topic in the country and many women from different walks of their life came out to share their horrifying stories. Many sexual predators were accused and many names from the film industry were called out. Tanushree Dutta started the Me Too India movement by accusing Nana Patekar. The movement took the country by storm. Recently, veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha spoke about #MeToo Movement and is receiving criticism over his controversial statement.

At an event, the veteran actor in his speech said, "I consider myself very lucky that in today's time even after several instances, my name did not pop up in Me Too movement. That's why I always obey my wife or make her my shield when I step out of the house." When asked about his clarification to the controversial statement,  Sinha replied, "Well, it should be taken in a lighter spirit."

Last year, when in an interview Shatrughan was asked about Me Too movement, he stated, "What happened to innocent until proven guilty? I am all for the MeToo movement, never in my 40-year career have I misbehaved with any woman. I treat every lady with the utmost respect. Having said that, I think this MeToo campaign is being blown out of all proportion."
