While biopics seem to be currently trending in Bollywood, many stars have already picked projects which are based on real-life people. From Ranveer Singh playing Kapil Dev in ‘83 to Janhvi Kapoor playing Gunjan Saxena in the biopic, many of the big names in Bollywood are engrossed in reliving some important person’s life on the big screen. Soon, Varun Dhawan might be in line to join the group of stars doing biopics. Yes, you heard it right! The Badlapur star who will soon be seen in Kalank might take on a biopic.

As per the report of Bollywood Bubble, Varun Dhawan has been approached by Badlapur director, Sriram Raghavan for his next film titled ‘Ekkis’ which is based on the life of youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient Arun Khetarpal. As per the report, Sriram Raghavan really is keen on Varun playing the main protagonist in the film which is based on Arun Khetarpal who fought during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan and is helmed by Badlapur director.

The report also stated that due to this reason, Varun was seen at the Maddock Films’ office and not because he was being considered as a replacement for Rajkummar Rao in Stree 2. As per the report, “Sriram Raghavan who has brought out a different facet to Varun’s talent with ‘Badlapur’ is extremely fond of the actor’s choices. He is currently busy finishing writing the script of his next film which happens to be a biopic. Titled ‘Ekkis’, it will be produced by Dinesh Vijan. The Gen Y star has been spotted several times at Maddock office which also was the reason why many claimed he might replace Rajkummar Rao in ‘Stree 2’. But it’s not the case. He’s being considered for this film instead.”
