Richa Chadha has been creating a lot of buzz lately courtesy her upcoming movie Madam Chief Minister. The movie which has been helmed by Subhash Kapoor, happens to be a story of a young woman from a village who challenges patriarchy and casteism and rises to power in politics. The makers had recently released the trailer of the movie and it did receive rave reviews from the audience. And while Madam Chief Minister is set to the theatres on January 22, Richa’s co-star from Masaan Vicky Kaushal has been cheering for the lady.

The Uri: The Surgical Strike actor took to his Instagram story as he rooted for the success of Madam Chief Minister and shared the poster of the movie featuring Richa. In the caption, Vicky sent his best wishes to the actress whom he had addressed as Madamji and mentioned how is keen to watch her stupendous performance on the silver screen. He wrote, “All the best Madamji. Looking forward to watching your stellar performance!!! @therichachadha” followed by a heart emoticon.

Take a look at Vicky Kaushal’s post for Richa Chadha’s Madam Chief Minister:

To note, Vicky had shared the screen space with Richa in his debut movie Masaan and the share a great bond off screen. Interestingly, Madam Chief Minister recently got mired into a controversy over one of the posters which many had termed to be objectionable. She was seen carrying a broom in the same and the netizens have slammed them over allegedly stereotyping the Dalit community. Following the backlash, Richa issued a statement and apologised saying, “As an actor, I receive the communication for posting, complete with the copy, handles and hashtags. Needless to say, I have no role in the designing of promotional materials. By saying this, I am not throwing the makers under the bus. They realised this inadvertent error and took this criticism in their stride. They responded immediately by retracting the objectionable poster and by releasing a new poster the very next day. It was a regrettable and a completely unintentional oversight, not a deliberate insinuation. We are sorry. Our heart is in the right place. Hopefully, you will see that for yourself when you watch the film.”
