Nowadays, Vivek Oberoi is busy with the promotions of Omung Kumar’s film PM Narendra Modi and right from the day that the film’s teaser was dropped online, the film has been embroiled in a lot of controversies. After receiving the U certificate from the Censor Board, yesterday, Vivek Oberoi slammed the Hindi film industry for posting selfies with PM Modi but not helping him out in the whole matter of controversies surrounding the release of his film.

To begin with, PM Narendra Modi, the biopic on the Indian Prime Minister, has been the centre of all disputes because of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, which are all set to kick-start from April 11, 2019. Also, the opposition parties are alleging that the film’s release was scheduled for April 5 with the sole intention to influence the voters ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, and therefore, the opposition has asked that the films’ release should be deferred till the elections are over.

Vivek Oberoi, who is making a comeback with this film, plays PM Narendra Modi in the biopic and while all his fans are rejoicing with the fact that Vivek is back to the screen, but little do they know that in his filmy carrer, Vivek Oberoi has turned down various films for a variety of reasons, and during an interview with HuffPost India, Vivek Oberoi had said that he was offered Rajkumar Hirani’s 2003-film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and although he had given his nod for the film, but due to date issues, the film went to Sanjay Dutt because Oberoi couldn’t adjust his dates. “I wanted to do Munnabhai, I said yes to it, but destiny had it that it was supposed to be a Sanjay Dutt film. I couldn’t adjust my dates,” Vivek had informed HuffPost India.

Munna Bhai MBBS went on to win the 2004 National Film Award for Best Popular Film and several Filmfare Awards. Munna Bhai MBBS starred Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Gracy Singh and Sunil Dutt.

I think no one else could have done better than Sanjay dutt

He has a creepy factor... The way he talks makes one feel something fishy about him.. Very unpleasant.

SRK couldn't do the movie and suggested Sanjay Dutt. Where did Vivek come into this?

I'm sorry what? Who would go from SRK to Vivek Oberoi?

Beta... Modi jaisi movie karo.. Tum.. Aacha kiya MUNNA Bhai MBBS nai ki.. Thank you for that..

Poor Vivek. Imagine going from rejecting Munnabhai MBBS to having your father produce a propaganda film that is not getting released during the time it can get maximum eyeballs.

As far as i know SRK was chosen to play the role but he opted out and then Sanjay stepped in (he was selected for Shergil's character). So with all respect to Vivek i don't believe that he was the FIRST choice, i mean, with SRK and Sanjay already in his pocket, Hirani wouldn't want to cast not that big star like Oberoi for a main part. But maybe he was considered before SRK showed an interest in a movie, dunno, maybe then

SRK was deeply involved with the role, even suggesting rewrites that made it to the final cut. It was due to his back issues that he went off the project, something he regrets to date. At that point, Aishwarya Rai was supposed to play Gracy Singh's character. I thought Sanjay Dutt was supposed to play Circuit but either way, it's hard to believe that Vivek was considered in the midst of these two.

Lol. Thank God for that
