Security has been beefed up at megastar Amitabh Bachchan's residence, Jalsa in Mumbai after Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole slammed Big B and Akshay Kumar for failing to speak up" on burning public issues like the hike in fuel prices. As per ANI, Police personnel were deployed outside Jalsa. ANI tweeted, “Police personnel deployed outside actor Amitabh Bachchan's residence, Jalsa in Mumbai.”

Nana Patole on Saturday asserted that they will keep protesting against Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan "whenever their movies are released". ANI quoted him as saying, “We have not stepped back. We will show black flags to them whenever their films are released or when we spot them. We will follow democratic ways.”

"I did not speak against Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan but against their work. They're not real heroes. If they were, they would've stood beside people during their sufferings. If they want to continue being 'kagaz ke sher', then we don't have any problem,” Patole added.

Check out ANI's tweets below:

The increase in the security comes after Patole questioned why both the actors did not speak about the issue affecting the common person like they did during the Congress-led central government’s regime until 2014.

Earlier, Nana Patole had said if Amitabh and Akshay do not take a stand on the issue of fuel price hike, then screening of their films and shootings would not be allowed in Maharashtra.

He's almost 80. Poor guy. It's his time now any day. Jaya will be left all alone after him gone. Abbishek is a good for nothing son, Shweta is too busy mingling around. The ground is clear for Aishwarya to do what she wants.

Nana Pataole is an idiot if he requires actors to make political statements about all issues. Do you job, not make actors who don’t know the policy intricacies to talk about fuel hike.

Anonymous 4 days ago

it's not about actors making statements but hypocrisy of actors who have publicly spoken against fuel hike and now chose to be hypocritical for their BJP party showcasing what opportunitists they are.

Indian don’t differentiate reel and real life Name: heroes. Movie stars are not important, they play fictional characters in movies. Who cares what 3 khans N Akshay Kumar... 3 of 4 high school school dropouts think.
