Wedding in Mumbai and a grand reception in Delhi on THESE dates for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja

While there have been many reports on the date of their big day, sources have confirmed to a leading publication, that Sonam and Anand will tie the knot on May 6, 2018 and May 7, 2018 in Mumbai.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are all set to tie the knot next month. While there have been many reports on the date of their big day, sources have confirmed to a leading publication, that Sonam and Anand will tie the knot on May 6, 2018 and May 7, 2018 in Mumbai.

After having a grand wedding in the city, the couple will be hosting a reception in Delhi, where Anand’s family is based. Sonam will resume work three days after her wedding.

Earlier, their families were looking at Jaipur and Udaipur for a destination wedding. Reports of a Swiss wedding also did the rounds. However, Sonam’s wedding will take place in Mumbai only.

A source had informed a daily, “It was becoming too cumbersome to manage the travel and living arrangements for approximately 150 members of the extended family and close friends of the Kapoors as well as Anand’s. It would have been difficult for the senior members of the extended family, who are expected to attend all the ceremonies, to fly to Switzerland."

The source also added, "The Kapoor family is working overtime to finalise the details at the last minute after several changes in the dates. Since SoBo would be too far for the families as well as the guests from Delhi, Sonam and her mother, Sunita, want to finalise a suburban hotel, preferably in Bandra or Juhu (where the Kapoors also reside)."

Invitations have been sent out to Sonam’s industry friends including Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor.

I knew she would only get married the closer Veere Di Wedding comes out. Just to create an extra buzz to the movie. She was with Anand for a few years now. Why couldn't she get married last year? She had no releases last year. In 2016, she only had one movie released (Neerja). She was with Anand then. She could have gotten in 2016 or 2017.

It's rather odd they are keeping the actual wedding date even though Sridevi passed away less than 2 months ago. I'm sure they discussed it with Boney and he didn't want any delays because of them....how would we know what kind of conversations are taking place behind closed doors? Plus, I am one of the few who thinks that Sridevi committed suicide which is why the family has no choice but to move on(depression is a real disease). She didn't want to be a part of this world, so why should others sit around mourning?

She didn't commit suicide. She had two daughters who I'm sure she wanted to see grow and become actresses and everything else. I guess she probably died from alcohol or drug abuse or a combination of both. She was also taking prescriptive medicine and a combination of alcohol, drugs and medicines can induce unconsciousness because of which she drowned or perhaps a cardiac arrest.

Clearly it can be seen that real world relationships as well as friendships are so shallow in Bollywood. It will hardly be 3 months since Sridevi's death that Sonam will be celebrating her wedding with all glitz and glamour. Even if Sridevi and her daughters weren't close to Sonam & company, just out of respect for Boney and the family as a whole, this wedding could've been postponed by a few months. Anand wouldnt've disappeared nor Sonam would've gotten any older by doing such. Goes on to show that people in Bollywood are purely self centred and don't give two hoots about others. All these appearances at funerals etc is just purely a shallow show off.

because someone passed away, the entire family should stop living their lives? even when it's close family, people have to move on and return to normalcy (despite it being hard). jhanvi did go back to working on her movie. im sure boney went back to his work, and khushi to school etc. then why should sonam put her life on hold? it's okay to grieve, offer respects and then get your life back on track. i don't think sridevi would've wanted otherwise.

What sort of a nonsense reply is this ? I never said that people should stop living their lives. Of course, everything goes on and on and the world doesn't stop with someone's passing away. But occasions such as wedding etc are events which are meant to celebrate happiness and they are entirely within the control of people who organise them. Dates for wedding can be changed or altered but unforeseen events like death (especially sudden death) are totally out of one's control. I never said that Sonam should not marry or that the Kapoor family should literally stop living. But it is only a mark of respect not to celebrate happiness when something tragic had recently taken place. At least, this applies to the Indian culture. Maybe you come from a culture where it is alright to celebrate happiness just when your near ones are grieving. PV, plz post !

I think the Kapoors want it done with & over as scheduled . The couple were always planning to get married this year , the family may already have paid for the venue , arrangements , guests from abroad etc . Sonam will be busy promoting VDW which has already been delayed , time wasted , losses incurred. It's already mid April & the wedding allegedly in May , it's very unlikely they have decided to get married all of a sudden in haste .

No one noticed the man with the bow on the head, ROFL!!!!
Made for each other jodi...he is exactly like her LOL

Congrats to the couple if it is true. So many contradicting article.

If the news is true let us be happy the Kapoors are doing their bit to stir the local economy versus helping a stagnant European one

They don't care a bit about that , they probably just couldn't afford 150 guests in a foreign location like Europe

Well then remind the kapoors that their son in law is a graduate from an American university and definitely spend more money on education in the USA then a wedding would cost in Europe . He could have helped stir the economy of Indian education by studying here.

Why are people even bringing Anushka in between a Sonam-Anand article . Firstly I have never heard her blow the trumpet of being an actress who married young, she got married and got back to work with three films in line and I respect that . The same way I respect ash,Kareena, rani. But yes anushk getting married at 29 is different because she does have quite a few years to go before becoming irrelevant as she is quite young . And so does Sonam , its nice to see that these younger gen actresses are giving their relationship and work equal importance

ANUSHKA SHARMA indeed had a flop 2017, both her films failed miserably at the box office. Her marriage was also only decided after the huge failure of JHMS. Thus her wedding got her back the hype she missed the entire year. HENCEFORTH SHE WAS DEFINITELY NOT ON HER PEAK

So then by that theory
SRK-fan (career over)
Salman-tubelight (career over)
Katrina-BBD(career over)
Deepika-finding fanny(career over)
And all the other actors after a flop - CAREER OVER
Wake up dude one flop doesn't ruin the career of an A-list actor so no JHMS didn't end her peak and how do you even know when they started preparing their wedding? To link the flop of her movie to her career is a cheap move and you should know better

'NOT AT HER PEAK' please don't lie in order to make a point . She is one of the highest paid actresses in the industry , and even before her marriage she signed 2 big films under big production houses Sui dhaga and zero. So she was being offered films despite jhms just like SRK was because one flop doesn't end your career. And also JHMS performed brilliantly overseas so as an actress she received her fame from that film so it wasn't a disaster for her.

Ofcourse because that's how the industry works right one flop and your career ends ? If that were the case then no actor would ever become a superstar . Akshay Kumar gave 13 flops in a row and still ended up redeeming himself to become a superstar. Deepika gave a flop like finding fanny but then jumped back and gave 4 hits . So please keep your stupid logic to yourself Anushka is an A list actress and she was so even in 2017 .

People it’s soneones happy day, why spread so much hate. Blessings are needed here. Spread ✌️ peace please.

Jaya and Ash were not the top stars when they got married. Ash had literally no work and was in her 30's. Kareena and Anushka were among the top three at the time of their wedding. Anushka got married in her 20s and that's trendsetting. A top heroine married in her 20s. There's another trendsetter across the border and that is Mahira Khan. She came into the industry with a husband and a child tucked.

Aishwarya gave doom 2 before marriage and Jodha Akbar after marriage. Just stop talking nonsense. Jaya was number one when she got married to then struggling new come Amitabh.

There is nothing to set trends whether you marry in your 20s or 30s. How long did your Mahira's marriage last for all the ranting you are doing about her. Every person marries when they feel like and when it is the right time for them. Madhuri, Sridevi, Juhi, Aishwarya married in their early 30s are are very much in love with their husbands while they are also carrying on with their careers. Kajol, Jaya, Sharmila got married in their 20s and continued working

Jaya Bachchan was the top actress of her times and got married in her 20s. Kajol was the top actress of her times and got married in her 20s. Aishwarya had a line of films like Jodha Akbar, Sarkar Raj, Pink Panther2, Raavan, Enthiran, Action Replay, Guzaish. Kareena has been doing cameo roles in Khan films and you don't call that as top actress or acting. Anushka did nothing out of the way. There are many actresses who were doing very well in their career, got married in 20s and calmly continued working unlike cheap Sonam, Kareena and Anushka who blow their trumpet for no reason

Lol Sonam wants to create Hype as there is NOT any

it's gonna be hot af in may. idk how people do summer weddings! shopping/prep/wedding/crazy heavy clothes+makeup in 100 degree F. yikes!

but sonam has access to the best of everything, so it'll be great i'm sure. all the best to the couple!

Congratulations Sonam!! You will be missed in BW. LOL

Please dont leak my personal information.I am a very private person

LOWLLLLLLLLLLL!

eh, sonam, who likes to do resorts and luxury island holidays would marry in a luxury city hotel is never gonna happen. Plus, I doubt she would rush to do a last min 2-day wedding amidst the release of her home production unless there is no good "muhurat" for the rest of the year.

Congratulations

This has become a daily drama for Sonam

I'm glad Anushka broke the rules of Bwood and now every actress will follow suit.

Yes, because Anushka is the only actress who ever got married in indian film industry, other heroines will finally start to get married.

No she didn’t break the rules many actresses did the same look at Kajol!

What did Anushka brake. Jaya Bhaduri got married at the peak of her career and continued working even while she was pregnant. Aishwarya got married and went back to the shooting of Jodhaa Akbar. Kajol got married at the peak of her career and continued working, she did even after having kids. So stop telling us that Anushka, Kareena or Sonam did anything new
