The lovely couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have worked together in about seven films namely Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Umrao Jaan, Dhoom 2, Guru, Sarkar Raj and Raavan. But they were adored the most when they romanced each other in Mani Ratnam's 2007 directorial titled Guru. In the film, Abhishek played the titular role and Aishwarya played his wife named Sujata. When the release of the film was around the corner, the couple got engaged and surprised everyone.

Today, the film marks 12 years of its release and Abhishek took a trip down memory lane and shared a few moments from Guru on his Instagram story. Abhishek posted a picture collage with Aishwarya from the film and it's too romantic to handle. Their chemistry was the most talked about back then. AB posted the story with a caption stating, "Can't believe it been 12yrs since the release of #Guru"

Check out the post below and tell us about it in the comments section.

Earlier talking about Guru, Ratnam had stated to Hindustan Times, "I cast them (Abhishek and Aishwarya) because I felt they are right for the character. I think they can deliver and we together can get something special. Being stars and popular should not go against them. It is not a negative factor."

Aishwarya and Abhishek announced their engagement on January 14, 2007. They then tied the knot on April 20, 2007. The couple last shared screen space in Mani Sir's Raavan which released in 2010.

Sholay was not panned by critics. Sholay is considered one of the best films ever made in Hindi cinema. It shattered all records and created new ones. It's admired by critics and public alike. Guru was a boring average movie who was loved by critics because they did not want to offend Ambani and Bachchans.

example of folks who live in past

you only have Past in ur hands.. we get it

why doesn't he recollect about dhai akshar Prem ke, Umrao Jaan, raavan

again its not 1990s .... pls live in current nd future

Both were excellent in Guru!

Congratulations, please do feed us some GULAAB JAMUN on this joyous occasion!

U guys were amazing in guru as well as real life & btw just ignore these haters

Abeshek did awesome acting in this film, he should have picked better scripts, after this film!

Iconic films like Sholay, Don 3 Idiots should do ''clocking''. Guru comes nowhere close to have any hype around it.

Sholay was critically panned, while Guru was critically acclaimed.. Guru is still considered a great film..

don't live in the past. make new films.

We too! Can't believe you both talentless people survived so long in this industry.

Who is "we"??? Queen_Rani with different anonymous comments doesn't make a "we". LOL

They survived because they are talented and delivered acclaimed performances in films like Guru. Talentless trolls can't digest this fact.

So Aish roped in hubby to put pressure on Mani to cast her in his new film.

Whatever helps u sleep at night.

So the arm-twisting has begun on a full scale. I'm sure Mani remembers this film, it's he who made it. But why are trying to remind him now?

Some long-distance begging is going on- Mani, remember me? Please take me in your new movie.

Aish PR should stop trying to keep her relevant like this.

Abhishek is Aish PR? Stop trying so hard to sound cool.

you know who talks about old work? Someone who doesn't have any new.

I guess no new project in hand, so let's stay in news by talking about an old movie.

Talking about a decade old movie that's forgotten.
