Sanjay Dutt's life was not an ordinary one and hence a biopic on it. Drugs, alcohol, terrorism, Prostitutes and Failure - everything that Sanjay Dutt went through or he did - was a part of the movie. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Dutt and has done complete justice to the role.

The movie also stars Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Manish Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh and Karishma Tanna in pivotal roles.

The movie has covered many aspect of Sanju's life - his emotional bond with father Sunil Dutt, his reckless behavior, his conflict, drugs addiction, his strong relationship with Maanayata, his first film, his comeback with Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt's death, his autobiography, his jail time and his FINAL release from the jail.

BUT, there have been chapters that have been missed out.

Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt's Friendship

Who doesn't know about Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt's dense friendship? The whole B-Town industry knows about it. Has the movie shown the relationship between two friends going awry? Well, yes and no. Jim Sarbh plays the character of Sanjay Dutt's old friend who introduces him to drugs. Then, there is a scene when Ranbir is seen slapping Jim adding to the whole confusion - if it was a reference to Sanjay and Salman episode. But, there is no direct reference per se as going by the reports,  their friendship turned sour right after Dutt came out of the Yerwada jail, after completing his five-year sentence. According to reports, Salman reportedly advised Dutt when he was out on parole in December 2014 to hire his manager Reshma Shetty to handle his work. But despite hiring Shetty, Sanju didn't get good offers after his release from jail as the team had reportedly hiked his price which producers were reluctant to give in. Later, Sanju confronted Shetty and soon they parted ways. When Dutt was asked about his fallout with Khan during a promotional event for his comeback film Bhoomi, he said, "He (Salman Khan) is like a younger brother to me, I really don't understand why people make this an issue, I can't meet him and he can't meet me every day." In the movie, Jim wasn't an actor so can be said that Rajkumar Hirani didn't touch the topic of their friendship.

Madhuri Dixit's Love saga

The rumours of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit's proximity were flowing fast in 1993. The two fell in love with each other at a time when Sanjay was married to his first wife, Richa Sharma. There were reports that Sanjay is planning to divorce Richa. Sanju was arrested for the illegal possession of arms in 1993 under TADA and here's when Madhuri decided to end their alleged relationship. When he came out on a bail in October 1993, he talked about Madhuri at length. When asked was he heartbroken when the actress decided to disassociate herself from him, on this, he said, "I didn’t get affected by her statement. I have been her colleague and I have done a lot of films with her. See, I need to establish a proper rapport with all my co-stars, it may be Madhuri or Sridevi. For instance, during the first few days of Gumraah, I wasn’t comfortable because you know how Sridevi is. She is aloof and I had to get talking to her. So what Madhuri said didn’t bother me that much, in fact, it didn’t bother me at all."

NO mention about Richa Sharma and Rhea Pillai

In the movie, there was NO mention about Sanjay Dutt's first wife - Richa Sharma. Dutt and Richa's tale was a romantic tale. They got married to each other in the year 1987. Richa got a brain tumour in early 90's and she was being treated for it in New York. When she got to know about Dutt and Madhuri, she wanted to stay with her husband, but he rejected her plea. It had a tragic ending. Richa succumbed to the brain tumour on December 10th 1996. Post that, Sanjay Dutt married model Rhea Pillai in 1998 and they divorced in 2005.

Where was Trishala Dutt?

Trishala is Sanjay Dutt and Richa Sharma's daughter and his first child. She stays in the US and calls Dutt - Papa Dukes. Not even once, there was her mention in the movie.

His Career

The movie has talked about Rocky and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. But, you don't get to see much of it as the film focused more on the emotional front.

To end, it's a movie and you can't include every aspect of Dutt's life.

Harani’s and Dutt’s biggest mistake was not to show Richa Sharma and Trishala in the biopic. That was the only thing that made Durr Saab proud of Sanju

The movie is already 3 hours long. There was probably no scope to include any other chapters of Sanjay Dutt's life.

It's not a biopic, it's a big PR exercise!

Madhuri is a cheater...she cheated Sunjay dutt

She like any other patriot gave a befitting reply to a guy involved in blasts, not cheater. use logic and some brains

WHy no Trishala though? I don't get why Richa and Trishala would be omitted thats the most tragic episode of his life.

I am glad, it’s not nice to show anyone’s life without their proper permission.

If they showed all aspects it would've been a really good film and the box office numbers would've been huge especially to see his affair with madhuri etc but guess the played it safe so it's not too controversial

I suppose due to legal aspects they couldn’t show anyone’s life.... they probably couldn’t get the proper legal release to do that

Even the Mumbai blasts was not covered properly in the film. The only aim of making this movie is to glorify the traitor Sanjay Dutt
