Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba Jadeja revealed that the cricketer was heartbroken and inconsolable after the semis loss against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019.

Walking out to bat at 92 for 6 chasing 240, the all-rounder combined with MS Dhoni to take India close to the finish line. He scored 77 in only 59 deliveries, which reignited hopes of a miraculous win. However, he was out in a crucial moment, and Team India could never recover after that, losing quick wickets to eventually end up 18 runs short. Virat Kohli's men were knocked out after the loss.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Rivaba stated that Jadeja was indeed very hurt. "He was inconsolable after the loss and kept saying, 'If I wouldn't have got out, we could've won'. When you lose a match after coming this close, it really hurts and it will be a while before he comes to terms with it."

His wife, however, was not surprised at the outstanding knock that her husband had played under pressure. Stating that he had always been the team's go-to man in big games, Rivaba continued, "if you look at his journey, he has always performed in crunch games, taking wickets and scoring vital runs. When we won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, he was the man of the match in the final for his all round performance."
