What’s Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour About?

Billie Eilish, the 24-year-old American pop singer, has built herself from the ground up and managed to erect a fanbase for herself that lies in her true heart and mind. Over the years of releasing chart-topping music and winning Grammy awards, the singer’s humility has not changed. Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour aims to showcase her talent via a 3D screening captured by the revered James Cameron, who is a friend to the star. The 114 minutes of the movie showcase her talent in a sold-out Manchester concert, produced to the last detail by herself and the filmmaker.

What’s Good About Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour?

The concert film begins at the peak of the star’s four-night residency at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena in July 2025 as part of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour. The venue is absolutely jam-packed with die-hard fans of the singer who takes to the stage in a giant LED box that appears to be a jail-like cube but reveals itself to be an end-to-end screen with her face plastered on it. Her aura is undeniable, her charm sticks right from the start as fans roar in happiness, singing along to each line. It’s an outstanding display of her dedicated fanbase that only grows with time, managing to show how Billie Eilish remains one of the best of this generation.

The Californian star is able to ground herself while showcasing just how big a deal she is, a feat not easily achieved, but she does with utmost humility. Her connection with her team as well as her fans is not lost and can be repeatedly seen in close-up shots, backstage fun moments, excerpts from chat ahead of the show, and more.

What’s Not Good About Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour?

For a project that is almost entirely shot by James Cameron and his crew, there’s a missing tone of grandeur from the spectacle. The filmmaker appears in a few moments, seen with a big camera mounted on his shoulders and talking to Billie Eilish, but none of those scenes hit the notes or come off as emotional, despite apparent attempts to do so.

Even as she talks about her decision to dress the way she likes without having to be objectified or when her fans shed rounds of tears expressing their love for her, there’s little that actually moves you.

Good About Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour Final Verdict

With under 2 hours, Billie Eilish manages to take you into her world of stardom, albeit not as closely as one would like. She flaunts her singing prowess and her unbreakable bond with her brother Finneas, their interactions being the absolute highlights of the show. It’s all too well thought out and put together, but without an undertone of anything impactful. There’s a missing angle of amazement despite the constant spotlight on the star, and you’ll walk away a fan of hers even if you’re not, but for her third concert film, is that really enough? Fans will say yes. You may want to check it out for yourself.
