Stepping out of your comfort zone is never easy but what Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan have been able to do as Mamta and Mauji in Sui Dhaaga: Made In India is incredible . The duo has risen from the ordinary to present an extraordinary love story set in the heartland of India. Director Sharat Kataria who debuted as a directed with Dum Laga Ke Haisha, has beautifully weaved a love story amidst the backdrop of an aam aadmi’s journey from unemploment to self-reliance.

Varun as Mauji is carefree, in his father’s words a useless son who works at a tailoring machine shop. Bansal, his master and his son, Prashant, literally treat him like a ‘doggy’, a stand up comedian, a subject of mockery. But that never bothered the ‘sab badhiya hai’ Mauji until he saw shame in the eyes of his wife Mamta, with whom he has been unable to start a comfortable relation. But a incident changes everything for the couple who had been restrained in the shackles of an arrange marriage. Mamta’s tear stricken eyes becomes Mauji’s only and foremost reason to start a new life of independence.

The straight face humour and relatable dialogues make Sui Dhaaga a smooth ride in first half. Varun and Anushka’s honest performance is the biggest highlight. The two get into the skin of Mauji and Mamta seamlessly and their chemistry looks organic. The supporting cast especially veteran Actor Raghuvir Yadav deserves a special mention as they add spunk to the story.

On the looks of the first half, Sui Dhaaga is set for a big win not just at the box office but audience’s heart as well. Stay tuned for full review. Meet you after the interval!

Anushka has ruined so many films! Does she work for free ? I would never understand why directors and producers take her ?! Is it because they get free publicity through Virat's cricket fans ?

Total lies. I watched the film today and must say this is the worst I've ever seen. Anushka should quite films. Varun is overrated. Such a bad film
