Welcome To The Jungle Movie Review: Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal's brain rot comedy is a wild family entertainer with big laughs

Plot:
What happens when a politician with a mountain of black money decides to turn his fortune white by producing the biggest flop film ever? Welcome To The Jungle takes this bizarre premise and turns it into a chaotic comedy adventure. The politician is willing to bear losses worth crores and assembles directors Dev (Rajpal Yadav) and Das (Paresh Rawal) to create a film that is guaranteed to fail. As they bring together a collection of quirky characters for this impossible mission, the team lands in an isolated jungle village filled with rivalries, misunderstandings, madness and unexpected challenges.

Whether they manage to make the film, whether the politician’s unusual plan succeeds, and whether the biggest flop turns into a surprise hit forms the crux of Welcome To The Jungle.

What Works:
Welcome To The Jungle is packed with references, nostalgia and several hidden surprises. The film cleverly incorporates elements inspired by iconic cinema moments, including glimpses of the legendary mythological drama Mahabharata and other memorable films. Revealing them would take away from the fun of experiencing them on the big screen.

The biggest strength of the film is that it understands the audience’s love for old-school entertainers. The comedy stays clean, situational and effortless instead of becoming loud or forced. The humour comes from the madness of the situations and the chemistry between the characters.

Akshay Kumar once again proves why he remains one of Bollywood’s biggest action stars. The action sequences are spectacularly choreographed and some moments genuinely make you wonder if you are watching Khatron Ke Khiladi instead of a comedy film.

The camaraderie between Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Arshad Warsi is easily one of the highlights. Their chemistry brings back memories of the iconic Hera Pheri universe and is far more entertaining than many of the romantic tracks.

Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar’s chemistry after 22 years is nothing short of infectious, with the duo setting the screen on fire once again.

The music takes you back to an era when songs had the luxury of running for several minutes and audiences enjoyed every second without reaching for the skip button.

The film also surprises with some interesting twists that keep you invested. The editing is sharp, the direction is smart, and managing a large-scale village setup with multiple characters and parallel chaos is not an easy task. Despite having several elements packed together, the narrative remains engaging.

The second half especially delivers moments that will leave you laughing uncontrollably.

What Doesn’t Work:
The first half takes a little time to settle and feels slightly stretched. A few characters could have been avoided without affecting the overall impact of the story.

Performances:
Akshay Kumar is the heart of Welcome To The Jungle. He owns the big screen with his energy, comic timing and action sequences. His stunts are among the biggest attractions of the film.

Suniel Shetty is effortless and watching him return to comedy alongside Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav brings a strong wave of nostalgia. Their collective presence instantly reminds you of the golden era of Bollywood comedies.

Paresh Rawal is an absolute delight. His comic timing remains unmatched, and he continues to be the soul of the film.

Arshad Warsi is completely in his element and proves once again that comedy is one of his strongest suits.

Shreyas Talpade comes as a pleasant surprise, while Johnny Lever reminds audiences why he is considered an institution in Indian comedy.

Jackie Shroff brings a powerful screen presence with his menacing act and leaves a lasting impression.

Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani, Yashpal Sharma, Mukesh Tiwari and Kiran Kumar provide able support.

Farida Jalal and Raveena Tandon add immense charm and gravitas. Raveena’s dialogue delivery and screen presence are outstanding, she completely owns her moments. Farida Jalal bringing this flavour of comedy was a delightful surprise.

Final Verdict:
Your jaws will hurt from laughing, a complete family entertainer that brings back the magic of old-school Bollywood comedy.
