Team India qualified for the semi-finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 even before the final group match. It prompted the team management to play Ravindra Jadeja in the game against Sri Lanka. He kept the Lankan batsmen under check by bowling a tight line and length. His contributions to the team in the field has also been invaluable. The think-tank will be tempted to play Ravindra Jadeja ahead of Dinesh Karthik in the crucial clash against New Zealand.

Sachin Tendulkar has given an imprtant advice to the team management regarding the playing XI against New Zealand. He said, "Jadeja is one option I would like to throw on the team management. I feel if Dinesh Karthik is going to bat at No.7 then possible Jadeja could be an option there because his left-arm spin can come in handy. In a big match, you would want a cover-up because we are playing just 5 bowlers."

In the only World Cup game that he has played, Ravindra Jadeja bowled his heart out in his ten overs and picked up the important wicket of Kusal Mendis by giving away just 40 runs. Also, in the warm-up clash against New Zealand he made a brilliant 54 off just 50 balls.

The little-master further added that, "I would be tempted to bring back Mohammed Shami because against West Indies he was good on the same venue. When we talk about Old Trafford there are pleasant experiences for Shami, he came back into the team and picked up wickets. So I would be tempted to have him back."

Team India will take on New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Manchester on 9th July 2019 (Tuesday).

In the other semi-final Defending champions Australia will take on hosts England at Birmingham on 11th July (Thursday).
