South Africa has lost all their three matches in the tournament and started their World Cup campaign on a bad note. The Proteas who were hoping to get rid of their tag of ‘chokers’ in the tournament couldn’t manage to win a single match in the tournament. However, the Faf du Plessis led side will look forward to register their first win at the Rose Bowl cricket ground today against West Indies. Let’s have a look at their key players.

Faf du Plessis- The South African skipper leads from the front in the team’s batting department. He scored 38 runs against the Men in Blue and was the team’s highest run-scorer against Bangladesh where he managed to score 62 runs of only 53 deliveries with a strike rate of 116.98.

Kagiso Rabada- This South African fast bowler can be the team’s greatest strength as far as their bowling is concerned. In their previous match against the Men in Blue, he picked up 2 crucial wickets for the team by dismissing the Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan and middle-order batsman, KL Rahul. His economy was 3.90 in his 10-over spell and gave only 39 runs in the match.

Andile Phehlukwayo- His ability to pick up crucial wickets for the team as well as to hit hard sixes in pressure situations gives South Africa an extra edge in the game. Andile provides the team a much needed stability at the end of their batting line-up. In the match against Bangladesh, Andile managed to claim 2 wickets with an economy of 5.20.
