24 Jump Street: Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s Comedy Sequel Confirmed: ‘Took So Long…We Had To Skip One’
24 Jump Street is the upcoming sequel to the popular comedy franchise led by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are set to return to their iconic roles as Schmidt and Jenko in a new sequel titled 24 Jump Street. Following the previous installments, it appears that the buddy cops will be hitting the streets once again, with Ice Cube also reportedly in talks to return.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hill, Tatum, and Cube will reprise their respective roles in the upcoming film. Producer Neal H. Moritz shared the official update on social media. In a photo posted by him, 24 Jump Street was revealed as the film’s official title, along with the tagline: “It Took So Long To Make We Had To Skip One.”

The upcoming film will be directed by Rodney Rothman, who co-wrote the script alongside Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed 21 Jump Street and its 2014 sequel 22 Jump Street, respectively, are also returning to the franchise as producers.
While further details about the plot remain under wraps, there has been no official explanation as to why the filmmakers decided to skip the number 23.
For the unversed, the comedy franchise began in 2012 with 21 Jump Street. The film follows officers Schmidt and Jenko, who are forced to relive their high school years.
Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the film also starred Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Rob Riggle, and Ice Cube in key roles. Johnny Depp made a cameo appearance as well.
The franchise returned in 2014 with 22 Jump Street, once again directed by Miller and Lord.
The film series is based on the television show of the same name, which ran for five seasons from 1987 to 1991 and was created by Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh.
Both films received largely positive reviews from critics and became major box-office successes upon their release.
